Lumajang:An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck the city of Lumajang in Indonesia on Monday.
According to Qatar News Agency, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake occurred 112 kilometers south of Lumajang, at a depth of 4 kilometers.
Indonesia, located along the Pacific Ring of Fire, experiences frequent seismic activity due to the convergence of multiple tectonic plates. In 2004, a 9.1-magnitude earthquake in Aceh province triggered a tsunami that resulted in the deaths of more than 170,000 people in the country.
