5.0-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Northwest China

A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Wednesday: China Earthquake Networks Center said in a statement that the quake was located at 41.23 degrees north latitude and 83.74 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers.

According to Qatar News Agency, no casualties or material losses have been reported. China is frequently affected by earthquakes and strong tremors, particularly in the mountainous regions of the western part of the country.
