5.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Indonesia’s Maluku Province

Maluku: An earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday Maluku Province in Indonesia.

According to Qatar News Agency, the epicenter of the earthquake occurred 168 km east of Maluku at a depth of 61 km.

There have been no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake so far.

Indonesia is regularly exposed to earthquakes, as it is located on the Pacific belt known as the Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
