Bahrain: Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah to discuss the latest regional developments and current challenges. They addressed efforts by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to enhance joint Gulf cooperation and consolidate unity to maintain the security and stability of member states, protect citizens and residents, and defend their interests.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions also focused on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and explore prospects for political and diplomatic collaboration in regional and international forums. This cooperation is particularly relevant during Bahrain's non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council, serving the interests and common goals of both countries.
The talks aimed to bolster the GCC's initiatives to garner support for its positions regarding Iran's actions, the resulting loss of life and property, and the consequences of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz on the global economy, energy and food supplies, and international trade.
