New york: HM King Abdullah II of Jordan affirmed that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the oldest in the world, describing it as an illegal occupation of a people deprived of their will. He stressed that the Israeli occupation government is dismantling the foundations of peace and burying the idea of establishing a Palestinian state.
According to Qatar News Agency, in his speech before the general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations held Tuesday in New York, the Jordanian monarch stated that Israel is violating international and humanitarian law in Gaza and disregarding the sovereignty of other nations, having breached the sovereignty of several countries in the region.
He added that the provocative calls by the Israeli government regarding a Greater Israel are unacceptable, emphasizing that silence today equates to accepting the current situation and abandoning the humanity.
