Doha: HE Chairman of the Internal and External Affairs Committee at the Shura Council, Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Middle East and Gulf Working Party at the European Council. The delegation was led by HE Chair of the Working Party, Anders Ostervang, who is currently visiting the country. According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and understanding between the Shura Council and the European Council. Discussions included insights into the parliamentarian mechanisms employed by both sides, aiming to bridge any gaps and strengthen bilateral relations. Additionally, the meeting explored strategies to elevate the role of women in parliamentary work. Both parties also deliberated on the importance of parliamentary committees in supporting oversight and legislative functions, underscoring their commitment to effective governance and democratic processes.
