Jenin: A Palestinian was martyred today by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire in the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, bringing the total number of martyrs to nine.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its crews transferred the martyr from the Al Damaj neighborhood inside the Jenin camp and also transported a person with a live gunshot wound from Jenin to the hospital. The Red Crescent also confirmed that the number of injuries has risen to 40.
Earlier today, Israeli forces launched an unprecedented raid on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, accompanied by military bulldozers, while Israeli drones hovered above and targeted an empty vehicle near Al-Zahra School on the outskirts of the camp. Apache helicopters also opened fire in the sky over the camp.
In addition, Israeli forces heavily deployed smoke bombs inside Jenin camp, continuing to block its entrances. They seized a house and turned it into a military outpost in the Al Souha area of the camp, demolished streets in Jabal Abu Zahir, and sent more military reinforcements to the camp's perimeter.
Since yesterday, Israeli forces have been installing iron gates at the entrances to towns and villages across the West Bank, as part of their ongoing strategy to tighten the siege, isolate the regions, limit citizens' movement, and impose collective punishment.
