Dollar Stabilizes Amid Prospect of Measured Fed Easing Cycle

Doha: The US dollar was steady on Thursday as traders weighed the prospect of a measured Fed easing cycle. The euro last bought $1.17425, remaining steady in early Asian hours after experiencing a 0.6% drop in the previous session. Sterling showed little change, holding at $1.3451, following a similar 0.6% slip on Wednesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the dollar index, which measures the US currency against six other units, stood at 97.813, hovering near a three-week high. The index is on the verge of achieving a gain for the month. The yen was last recorded at 148.62 per US dollar, slightly moving away from the three-week low it touched on Wednesday.

The New Zealand dollar experienced a minor increase of 0.1%, trading at $0.5813, while the Australian dollar was last bought at $0.65905.
