DPM, Saudi FM Discuss Prevailing Regional Situation

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud today to offer condolences over the tragic helicopter crash in Ras Tanura.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar conveyed sincere condolences on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Government, and the people of Pakistan. The incident resulted in the loss of 14 lives, prompting this outreach to express solidarity and sympathy.

Prince Faisal thanked Ishaq Dar and appreciated the brotherly gesture, which underscores the strong ties between the two nations. The conversation also included an in-depth discussion on recent developments in the region, where both leaders expressed concern over the evolving situation.

Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan's commitment to working towards peace in the region, in line with the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. Prince Faisal conveyed his intention to visit Pakistan at mutually convenient dates, a prospect welcomed by Ishaq Dar, who hopes for the visit to occur soon.
