Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty received on Monday United Nations (UN) Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for Sudan, Pekka Haavisto. Talks addressed the Sudanese crisis' latest developments, in addition to ongoing regional and international efforts to halt the escalation and restore calm.
According to Qatar News Agency, a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry highlighted that both sides stressed the importance of respecting Sudan's sovereignty and supporting efforts aimed at de-escalation and reaching a comprehensive political settlement. The discussions also emphasized ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid and alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.
