Brussels: European representatives discussed a new package of sanctions against Russia, including measures targeting Chinese companies producing drones for Russia's war against Ukraine. Representatives of the 27 EU member states discussed new proposals from the European Commission, which would be the EU's 15th sanctions package since the Russia-Ukraine war began over two years ago. According to Qatar News Agency, the proposals also include tougher action against the so-called Russian "shadow fleet" used to transport oil and its products. Russia has long been accused of using ships not owned by Western shipping companies or insured by Western insurance companies to bypass price caps imposed by Western countries on Russian oil exports to third countries.
