Euro-Med Monitor: Israeli Targeting of Schools Sheltering Displaced Gazans Remains Intentional, Recurrent Policy

Gaza City: The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor affirmed that the aerial offensives conducted by the Israeli occupation forces on schools sheltering displaced civilians in the Gaza Strip, particularly women and children, have become a deliberate and recurring policy rather than incidental behavior.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Rights Monitor emphasized in a statement on Monday that such actions represent one of the many facets of the unrelenting crime of genocide perpetrated against the Palestinian people for over 19 months.

The Israeli occupation forces continue to commit massacres by bombing shelter centers, leveling what remains of civilian infrastructure, and imposing living conditions that render survival virtually impossible, the statement said.

It added that the latest of these atrocities was the targeting of a school sheltering displaced civilians in the Al Daraj neighborhood in central Gaza City, resulting in the martyrdom of at least 30 civilians, more than half of whom were women and children.

The statement stressed that this Israeli action constitutes yet another episode in a systematic pattern of attacking shelter centers on purpose, revealing a clear intent to obliterate every vestige of civilian protection and to deprive displaced populations from even the most basic means of safety.

The Israeli occupying forces are stepping up the scale of killings in the enclave under a sweeping campaign characterized by a scorched-earth policy and the wholesale effacement of what remains of residential neighborhoods and critical infrastructure, the statement warned.

It called for the provision of special protection for shelter centers and the immediate establishment of safe humanitarian corridors to ensure the delivery of life-saving aid and the evacuation of the injured.

The Rights Monitor further urged the international community to take immediate action to halt the Israeli onslaught and to impose effective measures for safeguarding Palestinian civilians.

At dawn on Monday, the Israeli occupation forces perpetrated two massacres. The first was the bombing of Fahmi Al Jarjawi School, which was sheltering displaced civilians in the Al Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City, which led to the martyrdom of 36 Palestinians, including six children.

The second one took place in Jabalia Al Balad, in the northern Gaza Strip, where an Israeli aerial offensive targeted a home, claiming the lives of 19 individuals.
