Post: FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 Campaign Launched at Asian Games

Nagoya:The Organizing Committee of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 has initiated a promotional campaign on September 20, 23, and 29 during the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, currently taking place in Japan until October 4.

According to Qatar News Agency, the campaign was held at Bayt Qatar in Nagoya and garnered significant interest from guests. Attendees were introduced to the fan experience that awaits them at the FIBA Basketball World Cup finals in Qatar in 2027.

The campaign's goal is to promote the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027, marking the first time it will be hosted in the Arab region and North Africa. It also aims to showcase the Naismith Trophy to senior Olympic officials, prominent figures in Asian sports, visitors to Bayt Qatar, and Asian Games athletes and fans.

Efforts are being made to attract supporters of Asian national teams that qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 in Doha. The fan experience is a crucial aspect of the Organizing Committee's preparations, ensuring the Qatar 2027 experience extends beyond the games themselves.

Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Buainain, Director General of the Organizing Committee, stated that the campaign leverages the international presence at the Asian Games to promote the tournament and attract new fans from across Asia. He emphasized the committee's commitment to delivering a tournament with organizational value and a legacy comparable to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Dr. Al Buainain highlighted that hosting the FIBA Basketball World Cup is a historic milestone for the region, as Qatar will be the first Middle Eastern and North African country to host this global event. He assured that all facilities are ready, and organizational, logistical, and security plans are being finalized.

Deputy Director General Sheikh Tamim bin Fahad Al-Thani mentioned that the next phase of the campaign will focus on strengthening the tournament's profile and engaging with basketball fans worldwide. He noted that the committee's presence at the Asian Games has provided a chance to interact with fans from different countries and invite them to experience the upcoming event in Qatar.
