Post: Qatar Olympic Academy Wraps Up Course on Sports Policies and Legal Frameworks

Doha:The Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) has successfully concluded its Sports Policies and Legal Frameworks in Sport course. This three-day event gathered professionals and stakeholders from the sports sector within and beyond Qatar, aiming to enhance expertise in sports management and event organization.

According to Qatar News Agency, the course is part of QOA's broad educational and training programs under its 2026 agenda. It focuses on sports event management, reflecting the academy's dedication to developing regional competencies and specialized knowledge.

Thanasis Grigoropoulos, an international expert in sports management, led the course, which included lectures and practical sessions on sports policies and legal frameworks. Participants were introduced to international best practices in governance, operational planning, risk management, and legal responsibilities.

The program aimed to deepen understanding of policies and procedures for major sporting events, clarify roles within organizational structures, and improve coordination among event stakeholders. Emphasis was placed on the necessity of a comprehensive framework for successful event management.

The course also reviewed governance principles, stressing the importance of modern governance standards for efficient resource management. Grigoropoulos highlighted the need for clearly defined roles and well-established organizational structures in sports management.

Participants explored operational management of sports venues and the organization of services during events. They learned about internationally recognized models for sports facility management and the concept of "Level of Service" for various stakeholder groups.

The training concluded with a call for continuous development of operational, legal, and administrative systems for sporting events, advocating for the adoption of international best practices to ensure high standards in future sports event management.
