Doha: The Pakistani army announced Friday the killing of five militants in a security operation carried out in the northwest of the country. The army said, in a statement, that the security forces carried out the operation based on intelligence information indicating that militants were spotted in the Tira Valley in the Khyber province bordering Afghanistan in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the northwest of the country, and were able to kill five of them.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has been witnessing significant security developments for some time, as it witnessed a number of confrontations between regular forces and armed groups, which claimed the lives of dozens of civilians and soldiers alike.
