Doha: Al Sharq newspaper recently emphasized the significance of the visit by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to Syria, marking a pivotal moment in Qatar's support for Syria. The discussions with HE Ahmed Al Sharaa were seen as a crucial step towards building a future partnership that benefits both nations. Qatar has committed to providing technical support to restore Syria's infrastructure, bolster the electricity sector, and collaborate with regional and international partners to expedite the lifting of sanctions on Syria.
According to Qatar News Agency, The Peninsula, an English-language newspaper, highlighted the global recognition of Qatar's diplomatic efforts in securing a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The editorial noted widespread international approval of the agreement and praised the collaborative efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also commended Qatar's dedicated mediation, which was instrumental in achieving the agreement.
Furthermore, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep appreciation for Qatar's diplomatic role, which was key in reaching the agreement. Pakistan and Somalia also acknowledged Qatar's efforts in promoting security and peace in the region, urging for the ceasefire agreement to be respected and fully implemented.
