Foreign Minister of Oman Engages with Russian, German Counterparts on Regional Stability

Muscat: Foreign Minister of Oman Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi discussed regional developments, as well as de-escalation efforts and political solutions, during two separate phone calls on Thursday with Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov and Foreign Minister of Germany Johann Wadephul.

According to Qatar News Agency, during his call with Lavrov, Al Busaidi exchanged views on ways to contain the escalation in the region and advance political approaches and consensus-based solutions to address regional issues and crises in a manner that reinforces security and stability and prevents further tensions and repercussions in the region and beyond.

In his talks with the foreign minister of Germany, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation and ways to strengthen and develop it across various fields, in addition to discussing the latest regional and international developments and their implications for security and stability.

Both sides stressed the need to strengthen diplomatic efforts and support initiatives aimed at de-escalation and resolving disputes through dialogue and peaceful means, in accordance with international law and sea law.
