France Strongly Condemns Israeli Plan to Reoccupy Gaza Strip, Displace Its Population

Riyadh: France strongly condemned Friday the Israeli plan to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, warning that it would lead to a "complete dead end."

According to Qatar News Agency, the French Foreign Ministry affirmed its strong opposition to any plan to occupy the Gaza Strip and forcibly displace its population, as the Israeli army prepares to retake the territories.

In a related context, Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said in a post on the X platform that "a complete occupation of Gaza would exacerbate an already catastrophic situation without allowing the release of the hostages," stressing that this operation "would exacerbate an already catastrophic situation."

Earlier Friday, the Israeli Security Cabinet approved a plan to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, expand military control over it, and displace its population of approximately 2.4 million people, amid widespread international condemnation and rejection of this operation.
