Doha: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi and Cuba's Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz engaged in discussions on Monday to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral relations between the GCC states and Cuba. Their talks centered on identifying areas for development that align with shared interests.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting also included a review of collaborative efforts between the GCC and the Association of Caribbean States. Both parties expressed a mutual desire to further solidify these relations.
In discussions on regional and international matters, the GCC Secretary-General acknowledged Cuba's supportive stance on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and its initiatives to advocate for the recognition of the Palestinian state.
The Cuban Prime Minister, in turn, conveyed his country's respect for the Cooperation Council's crucial role in fostering regional security and stability. He expressed eagerness to broaden cooperation with the GCC states in various fields, including politics, economics, and development.
