GCC Secretary-General Denounces Israeli Annexation Statements

Doha: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Mohamed Al Budaiwi expressed his condemnation of the statements made by the Israeli Prime Minister regarding the annexation of parts of the territories of sovereign Arab states. He considered this a violation of the UN Charter and international law, and an attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Budaiwi stressed that such statements and plans pose a threat to regional and international security and stability, revealing the approach pursued by the occupying forces. He affirmed the GCC states' rejection of any attempts to undermine the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab states.

The Secretary-General called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take a firm stance to halt these provocative statements and plans, and to work to protect the region from measures that would inflame tensions and undermine the chances of achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
