Google Introduces Automatic Email Summarization Feature in Gmail

Doha: Google has initiated the rollout of an automatic email summarization feature within the Gmail app for Google Workplace users, leveraging its artificial intelligence technologies. This new capability is designed to streamline the email reading process for users.

According to Qatar News Agency, this feature is currently limited to emails written in English and is accessible only through the Gmail app on smartphones. Google has announced that the feature will be gradually introduced to various accounts over a two-week period.

Gmail will automatically generate summaries for complex and frequently replied-to email threads, which will appear at the top of the conversation interface within the app. This eliminates the need for users to manually request these summaries, as was previously required.

The company emphasized that the feature is capable of automatically updating summaries when new replies are added to the email thread. This enhancement aims to assist users in processing lengthy or complex emails more efficiently and in a shorter time span.
