IAEA: Local Ceasefire Secures Zaporizhzhia Power Line

Doha: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) A locally brokered ceasefire has taken effect to allow restoration of a 330-kV backup power line to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agency announced in a statement on X that the truce was mediated to ensure safe repair work. IAEA teams are also supporting demining efforts around the facility to enable maintenance access.

The plant, located on the left bank of the Dnipro River near the contested city of Enerhodar, is Europe's largest nuclear facility. It comprises six 1-gigawatt units, making its operational stability crucial.
