Rabat: The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) has called on Arab researchers to submit their papers for an international symposium entitled: "Publishing and Security: The Role of the Publishing Industry in Promoting Societal Awareness and Intellectual Security".
According to Qatar News Agency, the event will take place in Rabat, Morocco, from April 22-23, 2026, in collaboration with Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. The symposium is designed around seven principal themes that explore the complex relationship between publishing and security, covering topics such as intellectual security and publishing, disinformation, digital publishing, and information security.
The symposium aims to produce practical outcomes and recommendations for responsible publishing policies that enhance societal resilience against extremism and hate speech. It also supports educational and media systems across the Arab and Islamic worlds, addressing challenges in intellectual and informational security across traditional and digital platforms.
The Organizing Committee has set November 1, 2025, as the deadline for abstract submissions by researchers and specialists. Accepted contributions will be announced in early December, with February 1 as the final deadline for complete research paper submissions. All contributions will undergo a rigorous scientific review by a committee of experts in publishing and cognitive security, with shortlisted papers to be published in a scientific volume under ICESCO's oversight.
