Doha: Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono has denounced Israeli aggression against Qatar, labeling it a blatant violation of international law. His remarks were made during an emergency Arab-Islamic summit held in Doha.
According to Qatar News Agency, Sugiono emphasized that the actions against Doha contravene the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He reiterated Indonesia's commitment to peace in the Middle East and praised Qatar for its mediation efforts. Offering condolences to victims' families, he expressed solidarity with Qatar and condemned the aggression as an attack on international peace and security, underscoring the need for a collective response.
Sugiono highlighted that the Palestinian issue is of regional significance and called for unified condemnation of Israeli actions. He urged the UN Security Council to act to prevent further attacks and stressed the responsibility of the OIC member states to address the roots of the conflict. He reaffirmed the necessity for an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international resolutions.
