Jordanian and Norwegian Foreign Ministers Urge Immediate Action on Gaza Crisis

Doha: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi discussed Monday with his visiting Norwegian counterpart, Espen Barth Eide, relations between the two countries and the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, in press statements following the meeting, the Jordanian Foreign Minister stressed that the Israeli entity's use of starvation as a weapon in the Gaza Strip constitutes a war crime and a flagrant violation of international law and all humanitarian values. He reiterated his country's condemnation of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and its call for the international community to take immediate action to end it.

For his part, the Norwegian Foreign Minister said that the situation in Gaza is catastrophic and unbelievable, and it must stop immediately. He stressed the need to work to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and reach a ceasefire. He said that the disastrous war on Gaza will recur again and again if we do not address the real issue, which is the absence of a Palestinian state.
