Post: Kazakhstan and Oman Strengthen Ties with New Agreements and MoUs

Doha:President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan engaged in talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman during the Sultan's state visit to Kazakhstan. The discussions focused on enhancing Omani-Kazakh relations and mutual cooperation.

According to Qatar News Agency, both leaders led an expanded official session attended by delegations from both nations. The session explored partnerships in sectors such as energy, mining, transportation, logistics, food security, tourism, technology, artificial intelligence, and financial and investment services.

They also exchanged views on various regional and international issues, with an aim to strengthen peace and security in the region. The meeting concluded with the signing of five agreements and ten Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).

The agreements include Oman's membership in the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), establishing the EDB in Oman, mutual investment promotion and protection, air transportation, and the creation of an Omani-Kazakh business council. The MoUs cover areas such as diplomatic studies, finance, culture, youth, communication and information technology, healthcare, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and enhancing international connectivity.
