Meta Unveils New WhatsApp Status Features to Enhance User Interaction

Meta: Meta has announced upcoming updates to the Status feature on WhatsApp, introducing creative tools aimed at boosting engagement and content customization.

According to Qatar News Agency, users will soon be able to create and add voice stickers to their status updates, as well as share audio files directly as standalone status posts.

Additionally, WhatsApp is introducing the Layout tool, enabling users to design collage-style posts by incorporating up to six images in a customized format.

Another new feature is the interactive Add Yours sticker, allowing followers to respond with their own images. Users will also be able to convert pictures into stickers, adjusting their size and shape freely before posting them in their status updates.

Meta confirmed that these updates will gradually reach users over the coming weeks, with wider availability expected in the months ahead.

WhatsApp previously introduced the ability to include voice clips, up to 15 seconds with images and up to 60 seconds with videos, starting in March.

These enhancements align with WhatsApp ongoing efforts to improve user experience and prioritize interactive content.

Meta anticipates that these new tools will attract more users to the Status feature, one of WhatsApp's fastest-growing sections, and encourage greater interaction rather than passive viewing.
