Qatar’s Role in Peaceful Settlement of Palestine Question Highlighted at UN Conference

New York: Qatar has taken an active part in the preparatory meeting for the High-Level International Conference aimed at the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. The meeting was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, with the conference itself scheduled from June 17 to 20 in New York City.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, has been a key participant in the proceedings. The conference is set to include eight working groups, each tasked with exploring different facets of the conference's themes.

During the preparatory meeting, the co-chairs of these eight working groups presented their work programs and strategic plans aimed at achieving the conference's objectives. The State of Qatar has taken a leading role by chairing the working group on 'Narratives for Promoting Peace,' in collaboration with Canada and Mexico.

The objective of this working group is to foster dialogue that supports peace, thereby creating an environment conducive to peace efforts and opportunities that could lead to a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue through a two-state solution.
