Nairobi: The Morocco national team claimed its third African Nations Championship title on Saturday, defeating Madagascar 3-2 in the final at Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to Qatar News Agency, Oussama Lamlaoui was instrumental in Morocco's triumph, scoring twice in the match (44', 80'), while Youssef Mehri added another goal in the 27th minute. Madagascar fought back with goals from Clavin Felicite in the 9th minute and Toky Rakotondraibe in the 68th minute but ultimately fell short.
This victory marks Morocco's third title in the continental tournament for locally based players, following previous wins in 2018 and 2020. With this achievement, Morocco solidifies its status as the most successful team in the competition's history since its inception in 2011.
