Doha: The National Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Committee's (NAMLC) Secretariat organized two specialized workshops focusing on updates to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) methodology and mutual evaluation procedures.
According to Qatar News Agency, Acting Secretary-General of NAMLC, Mohammed Sareea Al Kaabi, emphasized the shared commitment to preparing the national system to combat financial crimes. Al Kaabi noted that the State of Qatar is committed to strengthening its efforts against financial crimes in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 and international standards. He highlighted the importance of focusing on effective implementation and linking measures to actual risks to achieve measurable results.
The workshops saw active participation from national entities involved in combating money laundering and terrorism financing. Discussions and interventions enriched the sessions with observations and practical experiences, reflecting awareness and cooperation among the entities. The participants demonstrated their commitment to developing coordination mechanisms and enhancing the national framework's efficiency in accordance with international best practices.
