Post: Nikkei Index Reaches Highest Level Since July

Doha:The Nikkei index in Japan reached its highest closing level since July 1, driven by gains in AI-related stocks.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Nikkei rose by 2.40 percent to close at 69,946.40. In addition, the broader Topix index increased by 1.33 percent to 4,145.22.

Significant contributions to the Nikkei’s rise came from chip-related companies. Advantest and Tokyo Electron saw substantial increases of 4.32 percent and 5.5 percent, respectively. Bank shares also performed well, with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and Mizuho Financial Group rising by 2 percent and 2.63 percent, respectively.
