Palestinian Foreign Ministry Urges International Pressure to Open Gaza Crossings and Address Famine

Gaza City: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong appeal for increased international pressure on the Israeli entity to open the crossings into the Gaza Strip, allowing the delivery of crucial humanitarian aid.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry highlighted the dire situation of the thousands of civilians in Gaza who are struggling for food, describing it as a stain on the conscience of humanity. The ministry's statement emphasized the severe starvation affecting over two million Palestinians due to the enforced blockade and restrictions on food and medicine since the closure of crossings on March 2, 2025.

The statement underscored the urgent need for a ceasefire and the cessation of violence, displacement, and land annexation. It called for the release of hostages and prisoners, stressing the importance of delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza in a sustainable manner.

Israeli occupation forces have been accused of maintaining a policy of starvation against the 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza by keeping the crossings closed, preventing the entry of aid supplies that have been piling up at the border since early March. This has led to a critical famine situation in the enclave.
