Qatar Chamber Explores Relations with Turkish Economic Planning Association

Doha: Qatar Chamber discussed economic relations with the Turkish Economic Planning Association (EPIAD) along with ways to strengthen and develop them. They also addressed the role of the private sector in boosting trade exchanges and enhancing mutual and joint investments.

According to Qatar News Agency, this discussion took place during a meeting at the Chamber's headquarters where Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber Ali Bu Sharbak Al Mansouri met with Ahmad Yahya Matar, President of EPIAD. Matar, who is also one of the founders of the Turkish International Business Forum (IBF) and a member of the Turkish Businessmen Association "MUSIAD", is visiting Doha.

Al Mansouri highlighted the robust bilateral relations between Qatar and Turkiye, especially in commercial and economic sectors. He reiterated Qatar Chamber's commitment to collaborating with various Turkish economic and commercial institutions to enhance ties. He mentioned that cooperation agreements have been signed with several Turkish entities, including the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkiye, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkiye (TOBB), Korfez Chamber of Commerce, Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.

Ahmad Yahya Matar commended the close relations between the two countries and stated that his visit aims to strengthen cooperation with Qatar Chamber to boost economic and trade collaboration. He emphasized the importance of the private sectors in both countries in promoting bilateral trade and expressed interest in increasing cooperation in the tourism sector to attract more Qatari tourists to Turkiye.
