Qatar Engages in Egypt-GCC Trade and Investment Forum in Cairo

Cairo: The State of Qatar actively participated in the Egypt-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Trade and Investment Forum, held in Cairo from November 10 to 11. The event, themed "A Roadmap Towards Strengthening Egyptian-Gulf Economic Cooperation," convened ministers, senior officials, and businessmen from the GCC countries and Egypt.

According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar was represented by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki, along with representatives from both the public and private sectors. The forum aimed to bolster economic relations between Egypt and the GCC states by providing a platform to review the investment landscape and identify new opportunities for cooperation across various economic, commercial, and investment sectors.

Discussions at the forum focused on key developments and significant legislation supporting the strengthening of strategic partnerships between public and private sector investors from Egypt and the GCC states. Participants also addressed challenges affecting the flow of investments between the two regions.

The Egypt-GCC Trade and Investment Forum is recognized as a strategic platform for deepening economic partnerships and shaping the future of investment cooperation, aligning with the development visions of Egypt and the GCC states. The forum concluded with several outcomes and recommendations, including the launch of partnership initiatives, the signing of memoranda of understanding between private sector entities, and proposals for new joint projects between Egypt and the GCC countries.
