Amman:Qatar's participation in the 25th Amman International Book Fair underscores its dedication to enhancing its presence in regional and international cultural spheres.
According to Qatar News Agency, Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture and Director of the Doha International Book Fair, expressed that Qatar's involvement in the fair is part of a broader effort to support the publishing industry and showcase Qatari intellectual contributions. This participation also aims to expand institutional cooperation and is part of a series of Qatari engagements in significant Arab and international book fairs.
Al Buainain emphasized the importance of such international platforms, which enable authors, publishers, and readers to connect and allow regional audiences to explore a variety of literary and intellectual experiences. The Amman International Book Fair is highlighted as a key cultural event that fosters dialogue and enriches the cultural landscape through numerous seminars, lectures, and workshops.
He further noted that the Ministry of Culture is committed to maintaining Qatar's international presence to deepen cultural connections with other nations, celebrate the book industry, and position Qatari cultural outputs within a larger civilizational context.
The 25th Amman International Book Fair, running until October 3, features approximately 400 local, Arab, and international publishing houses. Qatar is represented by the Ministry of Culture along with several Qatari publishing institutions.
