Doha:The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in Qatar has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PwC Middle East to advance digital government development through strategic consulting and knowledge sharing.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU aims to enhance the capabilities of employees and leaders within the ministry's Digital Government Affairs sector. This will be achieved by leveraging specialized consulting expertise to support sector priorities.
The partnership, represented by Farha Al Kuwari, Director of Digital Transformation Excellence at the ministry, and Joseph Abboud, Partner in Technology, Digital Transformation, and Digital Government Consulting at PwC Middle East, focuses on skills development and professional expertise. Its goal is to improve the implementation of digital transformation initiatives and support the ongoing enhancement of government services.
Key areas of cooperation include training, knowledge and expertise exchange, and the preparation of specialized reports and thought-leadership papers on digital government. The collaboration aims to incorporate international experiences and emerging technologies, identifying development opportunities and adapting global best practices to meet the sector's needs.
The ministry anticipates that this cooperation will enhance the ability of government professionals to keep pace with digital government developments. This will enable them to apply acquired knowledge to improve institutional practices and support digital initiatives.
This agreement aligns with the ministry's effort to invest in national talent and collaborate with specialized institutions to build institutional capabilities in digital government. It also supports the goals outlined in Qatar's Digital Agenda 2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030, with the aim of developing a more efficient digital government prepared to meet future needs.
