Post: Qatar Museums to Feature Exhibition by Designer Erdem Moralioglu

Hanoi:This October, Qatar Museums will unveil "ERDEM About Time, About Her," a major retrospective dedicated to the renowned British-Turkish designer Erdem Moralioglu. The exhibition will take place at M7, Qatar's hub for fashion, design, and technology innovation.

According to Qatar News Agency, the exhibition, running from October 27 to December 26, 2026, is curated by Olivier Gabet with exhibition design by P. Joseph and immersive installation by Robin Brown. It will showcase over 150 pieces, including garments, sketches, and atelier materials from ERDEM.

In addition to Erdem's designs, the exhibition will feature works from the Museum of Islamic Art, such as paintings and sculptures. This integration aims to explore the shared visual languages and cultural narratives between fashion and decorative arts, highlighting the dialogue between Erdem's creations and broader cultural and artistic expressions.

Erdem Moralioglu expressed his fascination with clothing's ability to encapsulate traces of people, places, or moments in time, and his excitement to share reflections from the past two decades with a wider audience.

Maha Al Sulaiti, Director of M7, emphasized the mission to enhance public appreciation for design, noting that the exhibition provides a unique opportunity for audiences to engage with the creative processes behind a globally recognized fashion house.

Curator Olivier Gabet remarked on Erdem's imaginative world, where history and beauty are continually reimagined, contributing to a distinctive language of dress over the past 20 years.

As part of the Qatar, Canada, and Mexico 2026 Year of Culture, the exhibition celebrates international connections and demonstrates how creative practices can foster lasting cultural understanding across borders through new research on Qatar Museums' collections.
