Qatar Volleyball Final Hailed as Sign of Growing Competitiveness and Popularity

Doha: Qatari sports officials have praised the level of competition and rising popularity of volleyball in the country following the HH the Amir Cup final, which saw Police SC defeat Al Arabi to claim the title.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana, First Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, said the match lived up to expectations and reflected significant progress in the sport in recent years. He noted that strong fan attendance highlighted growing public interest in volleyball in Qatar, adding that the competition level between teams has increased notably.

Al Mana congratulated Police SC on their title win, saying they delivered consistent performances throughout the tournament, while also praising Al Arabi for their strong challenge in the final. He stressed that the national federation has been working to organize competitions professionally while supporting clubs and national teams, adding that these efforts are now reflected in the improved technical level and increased competitiveness across teams.

The remarks were echoed by President of the Qatar Volleyball Association Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari, who praised the overall level of clubs during the 2025-2026 season and highlighted the quality of the final, both technically and organizationally. He said the match served as a strong conclusion to the season, supported by a large crowd that contributed to the atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Vice President of the Qatar Police Sports Federation Col. Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Thani said Police SC's victory reflects sustained institutional support and ongoing investment in the team. He added that the win follows a series of recent successes, including the Arab Clubs Championship title and the Qatar Cup, reinforcing the team's consistent presence at the top of domestic and regional competitions.
