Qatari Leadership Extends Condolences and Congratulations Amid International Engagements

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani sent cables of condolences to HE President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahama. This gesture was made in response to the tragic passing of the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, along with other senior Ghanaian officials, due to a military helicopter crash in the south of the country. Additionally, both leaders sent congratulatory messages to HE President of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire Alassane Ouattara on the occasion of his country's Independence Day.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani also extended condolences to Ghana's President Mahama, while sending congratulations to HE Prime Minister, Minister of Sport and Living Environment of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire Robert Beugre Mambe. The Prime Minister's dual messages highlight Qatar's diplomatic engagement with these nations during significant national events.

In other international engagements, HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad actively participated in the Women Leaders Forum at the United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held in Awaza, Turkmenistan. During the conference, she met with HE President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Lok Bahadur Thapa, emphasizing Qatar's commitment to international cooperation and development.

Qatar's domestic achievements were also highlighted this week. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) concluded its summer training program for students from Qatar University's Department of Environmental and Biological Sciences. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Police Academy, celebrated a significant accomplishment by securing first place for the second consecutive year in the Prince Naif Award for Arab Security, in the Leading Security Programs category.

Additionally, cultural diplomacy was celebrated as the Cultural Village Foundation Katara inaugurated a new mural titled "A Cultural Bridge Through Art." The event was attended by Deputy Director General of the Foundation Saif Saad Al Dosari and HE Ambassador of the Republic of Haiti to Qatar Jean-Marie Francois Junior Guillaume.

On the sporting front, Qatari horses "Janayen" and "Swift Winds" achieved notable victories on European tracks in France and England, marking Qatar's presence in international equestrian events.
