Doha: Qatari newspapers on Friday addressed a wide range of issues reflecting the State of Qatar's key national and diplomatic priorities, its regional relations, and its steadfast humanitarian role on the international stage. The editorials focused on four main themes: preparations for Qatar National Day and the return of the National Parade as a powerful symbol of loyalty and belonging; the strengthening of Qatar's diplomatic presence through the new Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters project; the depth of Qatari-Saudi relations and growing strategic coordination; and Qatar's continued commitment to humanitarian action worldwide.
According to Qatar News Agency, in its editorial titled "The National Parade: Reinforcing National Belonging," Al-Raya devoted wide coverage to Qatar National Day, affirming that the country is steadily advancing toward achieving its strategic goals of comprehensive sustainable development while maintaining its prominent international standing. The editorial described the National Day Parade as one of the most important highlights of the celebrations, calling it a "moment of pride and honor" eagerly awaited by the people of Qatar and a deeply rooted tradition passed down through generations. The paper recalled that the parade had been suspended in previous years in solidarity with the tragic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
With the cessation of hostilities, the paper noted, HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani announced the return of the parade, set to take place along the Doha Corniche on December 18. The parade embodies unity and loyalty and draws its meaning from the National Day slogan, "With you it rises, and from you it awaits," inspired by a speech of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Al-Raya stressed that Qatar National Day represents an unbroken legacy of pride in the leadership and the nation, and an occasion to honor the sacrifices of the founding fathers in preserving the country and uniting its people under the banner of the founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani. It concluded that the return of the parade reinforces values of loyalty, dedication, and hard work across generations to keep Qatar's flag flying high with pride and dignity.
On another front, Al-Watan, in an editorial titled "Capital of Peace," addressed the allocation of a prominent waterfront site on the Doha Corniche for the new headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the selection of world-renowned architect Frida Escobedo to design the project. The newspaper said the project marks a major milestone by embedding Qatari diplomacy within the city's urban landscape and providing unprecedented public access to the ministry complex. It quoted HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani as saying that the headquarters will stand as an icon of Qatari diplomacy and a source of national pride, reflecting Qatar's leading role in mediation, dialogue, and international cooperation.
The editorial also highlighted the remarks of HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, who described the project as an architectural masterpiece that reinforces Qatar's global standing while underscoring its commitment to sustainability, adaptive reuse, and heritage preservation. Al-Watan concluded that the project reaffirms Qatar's firm commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, preventive diplomacy, mediation, and good offices, and supports Doha's growing stature as a capital of peace and a destination for security, stability, and prosperity.
