Qatar’s Role in Gaza Ceasefire Praised by Al-Raya

Doha: Qatari daily Al-Raya emphasized the success of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which resulted in the release of three Israeli hostages in exchange for 90 Palestinian detainees. Al-Raya also noted the entry of hundreds of humanitarian aid-loaded trucks into the Gaza Strip as part of the agreement.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was reached after 115 days of negotiations, led by Qatar and partners, who overcame significant obstacles until a ceasefire deal was finalized, allowing the people of Gaza to return to their homes. Al-Raya highlighted Qatar's unwavering commitment to the justice of the Palestinian cause, stressing that it will not accept any compromise on this fundamental issue.

Since the onset of the aggression, Qatar has undertaken extensive diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to end the bloodshed of Palestinian brothers in Gaza and curb Israel's ongoing encroachment. HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani reiterated Qatar's firm position on the Palestinian cause during a meeting with Palestinian factions yesterday.

His Excellency reaffirmed Qatar's continued support for the brother in Gaza by resuming the air bridge for humanitarian assistance, Al-Raya noted.
