Doha: In its editorial titled "Qatar and the creation of stability," Al Arab argued that the understanding reached between the US and Iran is not merely a bilateral agreement but rather opens a new window for reshaping the equations of security and stability in the Gulf and the Middle East. The newspaper stated that the emphasis placed by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani on the importance of intensifying coordination and cooperation and supporting diplomatic solutions reflects a steadfast Qatari vision that recognizes that shared challenges necessitate collective action and shared responsibility, especially in light of the rapid transformations taking place in the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, the GCC-US ministerial meeting hosted by Manama represents a political milestone reflecting the interest of the GCC countries in the ongoing changes and their keenness to be an active partner in shaping the region's future. The newspaper pointed out that Qatar continues to consolidate its approach based on diplomacy and dialogue as the safest path to achieving stability, emphasizing that this approach has become a practical policy that has proven its effectiveness in numerous regional and international issues. It noted that the signs of de-escalation between Washington and Tehran reaffirm the importance of the vision that Qatar has consistently championed: that collective security can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual respect, and consideration of the interests of all parties.
Al Arab concluded its editorial by stating that the Gulf message emanating from the GCC-US meeting emphasized the welcome for any diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions, while simultaneously underlining that the security of the Gulf and the interests of its states must be a fundamental part of any future arrangements. The editorial noted that the focus on the security of maritime routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, reflects the importance of stable navigation for energy security, supply chains, and global trade.
Meanwhile, Al Raya, in its editorial today titled "Qatar Radio: 58 years of creativity," highlighted that Qatar Radio's celebration of its 58th anniversary confirms its position as a beacon of Qatari media, characterized by professionalism, credibility, and its commitment to Arab and Islamic causes. It pointed out that the radio has been following the stages of Qatar's growth and comprehensive development and has conveyed its voice to the world. The daily added that HE CEO of the Qatar Media Corporation Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al-Thani affirmed that Qatar Radio represents one of the most prominent national media institutions, having contributed for 58 years to shaping societal awareness and keeping pace with the comprehensive development and renaissance, and it has successfully established itself as a media platform that reflects national identity and conveys the voice of the nation to different generations.
Throughout its history, it noted, the radio station has built a distinguished record of professionalism and credibility. Its first generation of officials and broadcasters were able to solidify its media identity, while it has continued to develop its services and enrich its programs to keep pace with developments and innovations, all while preserving the values and identity of society. Launched on June 25, 1968, Qatar Radio represented the nucleus of Qatari media, the editorial pointed out, adding that Qataris and Arab media professionals contributed to building this media institution until it became a platform for culture, knowledge, and creativity, and through its diverse programs, it has formed a cultural memory for successive generations. Al Raya concluded its editorial by emphasizing that Qatar Radio has played a prominent role in introducing Qatari culture, supporting theater, music, literature and poetry, and consolidating its position as a platform serving various segments of society.
For its part, the Peninsula, in its editorial titled "Qatar's renewed commitment," highlighted that the State of Qatar's aspiration to host the High-Level Midterm Review (MTR) of the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA) for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in March 2027 is more than a diplomatic initiative, it is a reaffirmation of the country's enduring commitment to advancing international solidarity, sustainable development, and multilateral cooperation. In an era marked by geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainty, climate crises, and widening development disparities, the Least Developed Countries continue to face unprecedented challenges. Against this backdrop, Qatar's willingness to once again bring the international community together sends a strong message that global development cannot be achieved unless the most vulnerable nations are placed at the centre of international priorities, the daily added.
Speaking during the joint thematic event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani underscored the importance of the proposed meeting as a platform to strengthen cooperation with LDCs and support their efforts in overcoming pressing development challenges, the Peninsula noted, adding that this reflects Qatar's consistent foreign policy, which places dialogue, partnership, and humanitarian responsibility at the heart of its international engagement. The daily pointed out that Qatar has demonstrated that its support extends well beyond political declarations. Through the Qatar Fund for Development, the country signed two agreements worth USD 21 million with the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States. These initiatives focus on strengthening resilience in LDCs and establishing food reserve systems to address food insecurity among the world's most vulnerable communities. Such tangible investments illustrate Qatar's commitment to translating international commitments into practical action.
It concluded by highlighting Qatar's growing role as a trusted host of major international conferences reflects its reputation as a bridge-builder in global diplomacy. From humanitarian assistance and mediation efforts to development financing and multilateral engagement, the country continues to position itself as a constructive partner in addressing global challenges.
