QSE Drops 0.21% at Start of Trading

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index fell by 23.36 points, or 0.21%, at the beginning of Wednesday's trading session, reaching 11,339 points in comparison to the previous session's closing.

According to Qatar News Agency, the decline in the market was due to downturns in four sectors: Real Estate, which fell by 0.05%; Consumer Goods and Services, which decreased by 0.09%; Telecoms, which dropped by 0.16%; and Banks and Financial Services, which went down by 0.37%. On the other hand, there were positive performances in the Insurance sector, which rose by 1.15%; Transportation, which increased by 0.78%; and Industrials, which went up by 0.36%.

By 10:00 am, QSE recorded a turnover of QR 38.309 million, with 14.914 million shares being traded across 2,330 transactions.
