Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a phone call today with his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, reviewed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming meeting between him and US President Donald Trump next week to discuss ways to reach a solution to the war that has been ongoing between Moscow and Kyiv for more than three years.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, Putin briefed Lukashenko on the ongoing contacts between Moscow and Washington to find a settlement to the Russian-Ukrainian war, particularly the results of the conversation held last Wednesday with Stephen Witkoff, the US President's special envoy.
The Kremlin announced on Thursday that a meeting between Putin and Trump is expected next week to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, without announcing the venue.
