Seven Killed in Roadside Bomb Explosions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Bannu: Seven people were killed on Saturday in two roadside explosions in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistani police said. Yasir Afridi, the police chief in Bannu district, reported that a small passenger vehicle was targeted by a remotely detonated improvised explosive device while traveling through the area.

According to Qatar News Agency, a second explosion occurred as the wounded were being transported to the hospital by ambulance, resulting in additional fatalities. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incidents.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the bombings, which resulted in civilian casualties. The Pakistani president emphasized that internal and external actors were supporting armed groups by providing safe havens, logistical support, and financing. He stressed that Pakistan would continue its efforts to dismantle networks threatening national stability.
