Shura Council Committee Reviews Proposed Law on Digital Child Protection

Doha: The Health, General Services, and Environment Committee of the Shura Council convened on Tuesday under the leadership of HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanem. The meeting focused on a proposed law concerning the digital protection of children, following the council's decision to delegate the matter to the committee for further study.

According to Qatar News Agency, the committee engaged in a discussion covering various observations and perspectives related to the proposal. The meeting also addressed legislative and regulatory aspects concerning the protection of children within the digital realm. Additionally, the committee explored mechanisms designed to enhance the safe use of modern technologies and digital platforms by children.

Concluding the session, the committee resolved to continue its examination of the proposed law in a forthcoming meeting.
