Seoul: South Korean President Lee Jae Myung stated that his recent visit to China has established a foundation for the comprehensive restoration of relations with Beijing. He emphasized that the trip has set a stage for enhanced exchanges and cooperation in both economic and cultural sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, President Lee highlighted the significance of his four-day state visit to China, which included meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the prime minister, and other officials. The visit also featured a business forum involving senior executives from major corporations. Despite the timing of the visit coinciding with significant regional and international events, President Lee chose to focus on pragmatic diplomacy, underscoring the importance of safeguarding South Korea's national interests without delving into specific geopolitical issues. He remarked on the dynamic nature of international relations, noting, "in a harsh international system, there are no permanent enemies, friends, or rules."
