Seoul:South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has urged North Korea to help restore trust and resume dialogue following explosions in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that severely injured three South Korean soldiers.
According to Qatar News Agency, President Lee made this appeal during an address marking Armed Forces Day, expressing hope that North Korea would join in efforts to restore trust after a prolonged interruption.
The South Korean government has blamed North Korea for the explosion that occurred on September 21 in the DMZ and has demanded an apology from Pyongyang. The South Korean military has labeled the incident a "blatant violation" of the armistice agreement between the two Koreas.
In response, Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, denied North Korea's involvement in the explosion and accused Seoul of fabricating the findings.
