Ukrainian President Solicits Additional Air Defense Systems to Counter Russian Strikes

Vilnius: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on his allies to strengthen his country's air-defense systems to counter Russian strikes that have left hundreds of thousands of Kyiv residents without electricity and heating during the winter. Speaking upon his arrival in Vilnius, Lithuania on Sunday, Zelensky said this week alone, the Russians have launched more than 1,700 drone attacks, over 1,380 guided aerial bombs, and 69 missiles of various kinds.

According to Qatar News Agency, Ukraine is in need of air-defense systems every day, Zelensky stressed, adding that he continues to work with the United States and Europe to ensure stronger protection of airspace. Earlier today, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its multi-domain tactical and offensive air operations, alongside Russian artillery units, had targeted the energy emplacements that support the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and establishments.
