Doha: The United Nations General Assembly Council of Presidents (UNCPGA) condemned the Israeli attack on a residential compound in the State of Qatar: In a statement, the Council affirmed that this attack constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, as well as the established principles of respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Council stressed the need to respect the territories of states and ensure the safety and security of negotiators at all times. It called on the Israeli entity to immediately cease these hostile acts and held it fully responsible for the dire consequences of this escalation.
The Council also urged the international community to take urgent measures to provide the necessary protection for civilians. The UNCPGA reaffirmed the United Nations' commitment to the principles of international peace and security and supported all efforts aimed at reaching a just and comprehensive solution that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and puts an end to the suffering of the peoples of the region.
